Thinking about Adopting a Dog or Cat?

By How to Organize Your Life Blog, Rightsize Your Life

This weekend there has been lots of publicity here in Atlanta about adopting dogs and cats from our local shelters. The incentives involved waiving adoption fees and, of course, most of the photos showed celebrities cuddling adorable puppies. What’s not to love? I’m a big fan of adopting animals. I’ve almost always had a dog in my home. I grew up with dogs and cats co-existing happily together. Most of my adult life I’ve had dogs and cats – one or two of each – as pets. Right now, I have 2 dogs. Miles Miles is a golden retriever mix….

Gardening and Organizing: What Do They Have in Common?

By How To Organize, How to Organize Your Life Blog

I am an avid gardener. I’m in my garden every day. Naturally, I spend more time out there when the weather is nice and less when the weather is nasty. De-cluttering is simply removing that which doesn’t belong in a space and either putting it where it does belong in your home, mind, life or removing it. Everyone, and I do mean everyone (even the most organized person) can use some de-cluttering from time to time. I have several places…

Inspiration?

By How To Organize, How to Organize Your Life Blog

What inspires you? Sometimes we find inspiration from books, in nature, from something someone has said to us. Recently, I encouraged a client to purchase a small bookcase. She had many books stored in plastic boxes and was eager to get more settled in her home. We looked online and found a great bookcase at The Container Store. I picked up the bookcase for my client and delivered it to her home. Then together we unpacked the boxes. As we unpacked, my client carefully looked at each book. Some she decided she didn’t want any more and was ready to…
